Soundcore Wakey Bluetooth Powered By Anker Alarm Clock – As someone who is decidedly not a morning person, I have a hard time with the Anker Soundcore Wakey review. After all, if audiophiles are reviewing headphones and hardcore gamers are reviewing games, what use am I to resort to a snooze button and a high-tech alarm clock?
I thought about it, then said to Anker’s publicist, “Ah, sloppy. Send him there.”

It turned out to be a good shout. Not only is the Anker Soundcore Wakey a truly delightful piece of kit, it’s also one of the best alarm clocks I’ve had the pleasure of using, and it’s loud enough to rouse even the sleepiest of sleepers.

Its chassis is covered in soothing white plastic. In front, there is a textile mesh. After that, there’s a hidden array of LED lights that show the time in digital format. Below that is a series of touch-sensitive buttons that let you control music playback, turn off the alarm and turn on the built-in FM radio.
Soundcore Wakey also offers a variety of device charging options. On top is a 10W wireless charger. On the back of the alarm clock, there are two 5V/2A USB-A chargers. Here you will also find the plug-in FM antenna.
What I really appreciate about the Soundcore Wakey is that you don’t have to fumble with buttons to set an alarm. There is a companion app for Android and iOS. To use it, you need to connect your phone to the watch via bluetooth. The app will immediately recognize the device.
The app allows you to choose the time and day you want to wake up. It also comes with some built-in ambient noises that you can activate through the app to help lull you into a restful sleep.

Anker Soundcore Wakey has a power of 10 W and sounds very loud. This property is what makes it work so well when it wakes you up. It’s a bit like having an Iron Maiden concert on your nightstand. Sure, it’s a little surprising sometimes, but isn’t it?

In terms of sound performance, it doesn’t disappoint and comes with the bass sound profile you’ve come to expect from Anker audio gear. This makes it ideal for listening to hip-hop and rock music that highlights those meaty basses.
There’s less emphasis in the high-mid range, but it’s still very nice and overall I’m impressed. Thanks to the rather powerful speakers, it easily fills a room with sound.

That’s the problem, isn’t it? If you need to wake up in the morning, this is for you because it is much louder than the standard phone alarm. The app is also pretty good (which is a rarity for most audio equipment) and makes it easy to set up and manage alarms.
I’m also a big fan of the charging system, but I felt the lack of USB-C power delivery was a missed opportunity. I work a lot from bed and the option to charge my laptop from the alarm clock would be nice.
It would be nice to have some sort of built-in voice assistant. This device combines the charger, speaker and alarm in one device. Why not throw in Alexa for good measure?
These are only minor issues though and overall I’m very happy with the Anker Soundcore Wakey and would recommend it without hesitation.
