The Onn 4K streaming box is unusual, and maybe that’s the point. The device is just a small black plastic box with rounded edges. On one side there is a microUSB connector for power supply and on the other side there is an HDMI connector for the TV signal. The other side has a small white LED and a cryptic button to start the pairing process or initiate a factory reset.
Many people have complained that the Onn 4K doesn’t look good on their other AV gear because it has cables coming out of opposite sides. I suspect this may be intentional, given the lack of rubber feet and the fact that the box is so light that cables can easily pull it off most surfaces. I think the best solution is to stick it on the back of the TV with velcro straps.
The remote has most of the buttons you’d expect on an Android TV, as well as four service buttons for direct access to YouTube, Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max. Unfortunately, these buttons can’t be changed using common tools like Button Mapper, but I think it might be possible to do this with a few buttons by uploading custom applications with appropriate pnames. There’s nothing glaringly wrong with the remote, and most people won’t have any complaints, but there are a few issues that a conscientious person like myself would be happy to fix. Although I indulge in everything, two things stand out above the rest.

Since there’s only 8GB of storage, about half of which is taken up by the operating system and some pre-installed apps, you won’t have much room for big games anyway. If you have an OTG cable with a power connector, you can connect external storage and Ethernet cable adapters. I also tried Stadia and it was like playing on a Chromecast Ultra, which is usually too tight for me.
