We noticed that you have parts in your cart. To add new products, we need to empty the current basket. We explain how to turn on the JBL Charge 3 BT speaker here. Now, most speakers have a power button, and they place it prominently on the unit so it’s easy to find. In fact, this speaker is not an exception to this model, as we see its power button at the top of the button panel, as we will see next.

There is also a status lamp inside the power button, which starts to light up when the speaker is turned on, as shown in the following image.

When the speaker is turned on, the status light will turn on and the unit will make an interesting sound to let you know that it is currently running.

But if the speaker doesn’t turn on when you press the power button, or the battery meter is flashing red, the speaker may need to be charged.

So if your device doesn’t turn on, try plugging in a charger. You can safely play the speaker while it is charging.

Jbl Charge 5 Review: Portable Party Powerhouse

When the charger is connected, the speaker should always turn on when you press the Power button. If not, the unit may not have power from your adapter. Make sure the adapter’s power outlet is powered, the adapter is working, the cable between it and the speaker is secure, and the charging port is fully inserted into the speaker’s USB port. Also, the speaker may have been inadvertently set to service mode, in which case it will not turn on unless it is connected to power. In that case, disable this setting.

But if the speaker still doesn’t turn on after these checks, the unit itself might be faulty. In that case, get a new one. Take the incredible power of JBL Pro Sound with you. The JBL Charge 5 features an optimized long-range driver, a separate tweeter and dual JBL woofers, all of which deliver incredibly rich and clear sound. Get that big room sound, even when you’re out and about.

The fun doesn’t have to stop. Equipped with an incredible 20 hours of battery life, the JBL Charge 5 lets you party all day long into the night.

If you’re in the market for Bluetooth speakers, one brand tends to come up more often than others. JBL has options at basically every price point, but the best speakers for the price have always been the Charge series. The JBL Charge 4 speaker is a few years old now, but you can still find it in various stores. How well has it held up since it was first released?

At first glance, the Charge 4 looks no different from the previous Charge 3. But if you look a little closer, you’ll notice some slight differences in build and size. 4. the slightly higher charge is approx. inches across the board, but it’s also 165 grams (7.05 ounces) heavier. While that’s not a big deal, it’s not good news if you were counting on the speaker’s portability. If you’re hiking, an ounce in the morning is a pound in the evening. That said, it really shouldn’t matter in day-to-day practice. You should be able to throw it in a backpack with no problem.

JBL also upgraded the battery in the Charge 3 from 6000 mAh to 7500 mAh in the Charge 4. Other than that, the Charge 4 still retains most of the features that made the Charge 3 so great.

Yes, the tough waterproof material is backed up by an IPX7 certification that allows you to submerge in one meter of water for 30 minutes. It also floats a bit if you drop it in the water, so you don’t have to worry about losing it if it falls off your boat or deck. These, like most new JBL speakers in recent years, feature dual passive radiators at both ends.

Jbl Charge 5 Long Term Review: The Perfect Summer Companion

Editor’s note: Sara tested the JBL Flip 4’s IPX7 rating by submerging it in a pool for about 10 seconds, and it came out broken. The speaker was still playing, but the sound was muffled by the loud screeching. JBL’s customer care said that the one-year warranty has expired and defective products out of warranty cannot be replaced free of charge. Considering JBL is a company that sells its waterproofs, this was disappointing.

Up top, you’ll get playback buttons slightly raised above the content, along with a power and Bluetooth button. At the bottom is a small stand with five small LED lights that let you know how much battery life is left when you press the power button, and there’s a rubber sheet on the back that keeps all the ports protected from water. You’ll definitely want to make sure this is closed if you plan on taking it to the beach or rocking it by the pool.

The Charge 4 has backlit power and Bluetooth pairing buttons at the top.

Connecting to the speaker might not be as easy as AirPods, but it’s still pretty easy. As soon as you turn it on, you just need to press the Bluetooth button next to the switch to enter pairing mode. After that, find the device in your Bluetooth settings to connect to it.

If you still can’t tell, the JBL Charge 4 isn’t all that different from the previous model. It’s repetition of repetition, but connection is where things begin to change. The Charge 4 has all your bases covered with a solid connection like most Bluetooth speakers up to about 30 feet. The playback controls work great and the buttons are nice and clicky, although I wish the buttons were white plastic or illuminated like the power button, as it’s hard to see which one it is in the dark. The Charge 4 also doesn’t have a built-in microphone, so if you tend to use the speakerphone for calls, you might be annoyed. Personally, I never want a microphone on my speakerphone and I always make the effort to unplug my phone whenever I get a call, so this is a real positive for me, but I can see how it could be a deal breaker.
