After a week of using the JLab Go Air Pop on a daily basis, I can confidently say that these wireless earbuds are worth every penny for the price. Providing a satisfying performance without skipping on important bits like advanced connectivity and reliable battery life, the headphones are more than my expectations-down-to-earth. Here’s a breakdown of their sound, design and battery performance.
The JLab Go Air Pop Wireless Earbuds’ 6-millimeter audio drivers produce a powerful and exciting sound, but you should know that when it comes to creating a refined audio experience (think complex instruments and speakers), they leave a lot to be desired. The results’ strong bass output affects the rest of the frequency range, making their high- and mid-range sound inferior to expensive products. But to be honest, this did not surprise me when I tried them, because they are very affordable.
But surprisingly, and despite the available price point, the Go Air Pop headphones have easy access to three (through three transmissions on each bud) sound mode: Balanced, Bass Boost and JLab Signature. I enjoyed the latter the most as it rises to the top of the bass and treble delivery.
The JLab Go Air Pop’s call quality is reliable but doesn’t match the multi-microphone setup of more expensive headphones. During FaceTime, phone and Zoom calls, participants noted that they could hear me more clearly when I was turned on. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.1, the headphones maintained a strong connection with the iPhone and Google Pixel 5a when I tested them.

Believe it or not, the JLab Go Air Pop is not only the cheapest but also the lightest true wireless headphones I’ve tried to date. Weighing only 3.7 grams each, the headphones cut well below the 5-gram comfort benchmarks of the Beats Studio Pro, JBL Live Pro+ and 1 more Comfobuds Pro. I didn’t feel tired when I tried the Go Air Pop. The shape of the earbuds and the ear tips create a reliable seal that helps them stay in place, so I never had to worry about them falling off during my testing.
Touch-sensitive controls can be hit or miss with earbuds, but I’m happy to say that the Go Air Pop’s controls worked well during my testing. With that said, there is a bit of a learning curve in the setup which includes single, double and triple taps and long presses. It only takes a few minutes for the buds to catch on to the setting.

I was happy to see that you can control the volume with a tap on each earbud (the right increases while the left decreases). Believe it or not, there are a lot of pricier earbuds out there that don’t have this function at all, but require you to fiddle with friend apps to get it.
The JLab Go Air Pop has a calm design, a unique note that includes a matte housing and charging case in black, blue, gray, pink and purple. Each bud carries a different type of mark in the same color but with a different glossy finish.
