To use your Google Home as a speaker, first put it in pairing mode. You can do this in two ways:

Once you’ve put your Google Home into pairing mode using either of these methods, you can connect it to your smartphone just like you would any other Bluetooth device.

3. Give your iPhone a moment to search for devices, then select your Google Home (if you’ve renamed it, it will appear with that name) under the “Other Devices” section.

4. It will take a moment to pair the two devices. If they don’t connect, bring the devices closer together.

Once you’ve paired your devices, Google Home will act like any other Bluetooth speaker and play all the audio from your phone, whether it’s from YouTube, Spotify, Safari, or another app.

If your Google Home or Mini keeps getting the “Could not communicate” error during setup, turn on Bluetooth. For this, first restart your Google Home. Go to Settings on your Android or iPhone and turn on Bluetooth. Next, open the Google Home app and start the setup by turning on Bluetooth.

If nothing works, it’s time to reset your Google Home speaker. To do this, press and hold the small button on the bottom of the Google Home speaker for 15 seconds.
