Wireless music systems seem like a complicated concept to set up and use on a daily basis – but when it comes to the SoundTouch series from Bose that couldn’t be further from the truth. All the systems in this family are designed to work perfectly together: when it comes to the whole range, there are three separate systems, two sound bars, a 5.1 sound system and a SoundTouch amplifier (external speakers). The idea behind the systems – as long as you have a home WiFi network, you can place these wireless speakers in different rooms and control them all using one free app (Android and iOS).

Bose Soundtouch 10 Review: This Compact Wireless Speaker Works With Everything And Packs Some Surprising Punch

Bose recently updated their one-piece systems and we have the ‘baby’ SoundTouch 10 and the high-end SoundTouch 30. One of the main differences in this new series is that they have ditched standard Bluetooth for Apple’s proprietary AirPlay streaming. This means that all kinds of devices can now connect directly to one of these systems and stream audio: phones, tablets, mp3 players and even laptops. In addition to this wireless streaming function, you can stream music from any computer on the same network (just get the SoundTouch Server software first) and choose from hundreds of high-quality Internet radio stations.

Everything is controlled via the free Android or iOS SoundTouch app. It will take you through the system setup and show you all the music libraries from the connected computer.

On the one hand, the app is like a remote control – although there are larger SoundTouch systems with their own infrared remotes. At the top of each system you have the basic power and volume, but also a set of buttons from 1 to 6. These are presets and can be anything you like: artist, album or internet radio station. Once you install these, you just need to press a button to start playing your favorite music.

The SoundTouch 10 is very small and light and still fills a room with rich sound. However, it can get pretty loud, as it tries to sacrifice low frequencies to keep it clear above a certain amount. There’s no battery inside though, so this isn’t really a mobile or beach system. The SoundTouch 30, on the other hand, is a big, heavy beast. This is what you get when you want to throw a loud party.

The waveguide system and dedicated subwoofer produce deep bass and are easily loud enough for the largest room in your home. We especially liked the well-rendered soundtracks. Listening to Adele’s Hello, the power comes through in the sound even when listening on the other side of the system.

Finally, when it comes to multiple systems on the same network, you can have them play the same music or play different ones. And the controls with the app are perfect – although it takes 3-4 seconds to restart every time you open the app – which is annoying. Overall, we highly recommend the new SoundTouch. It really allows you to listen to more music easily for the whole family.

If you’re willing to pay a premium, the Bose SoundLink Wireless Mobile Speaker is one of the best portable Bluetooth speakers on the market.

Bose, create a ground-breaking product? Of course, the company has excellent headphones and good sound systems. But Bose? Since when has Bose made a game player?

Since it came out with a compact Bluetooth speaker, the SoundLink Wireless Mobile, that is. No, it’s not an iPhone or anything, but it might just be the iPhone of portable Bluetooth speakers.

For those who don’t know, Bluetooth speakers allow you to wirelessly stream music and other sounds from any smartphone and many tablets (including the iPad). No network configuration is required – just a simple pairing process and whatever you’re playing on your phone or tablet will be sent wirelessly to the speakers, whether it’s MP3 music, Spotify, Rdio, a baseball game or video audio.

Bose Sound Touch 10

Bluetooth speakers have been around for years, so what’s so special about Bose? Well, it starts with how small it is and ends with how much noise it makes – and that noise is amazing. Bose also seems to be taking a few cues from Apple: With a compact form factor and a clean, sleek design, the SoundLink Wireless Mobile, which starts at $300, is equipped with a magnetically-shielded hybrid mount and stand that which automatically mutes the speaker. closed Is it familiar?

Oh, and like the Smart Cover for iPad 2, the SoundLink Wireless Mobile Cover comes in two parts: nylon and leather. But you’ll only get leather upholstery from the get-go if you step up to the top-of-the-line trim, which costs an extra $50 and includes what the company calls “automotive-grade” chrome accents.

Should you buy that fancy silver model or stick with the $300 standard black model with a dark-gray nylon cover? We can’t answer that for you, but the truth is you can’t go wrong with either model. And, not surprisingly, Bose sells nylon and other leathers in different colors for $30 to $50, if you want to change later.

The first thing you’ll notice about the SoundLink Wireless Mobile Speaker when you pick it up is that it’s small, weighing in at 2.78 pounds. It is 5 inches long, 9.5 inches wide and 1.9 inches thick.

That depth—or lack thereof—is really the most striking part of the design. But while the SoundLink Wireless Mobile Speaker looks sleek, sleek, perhaps a little thin, and more suited to indoor listening, Bose makes a point of showing just how durable and solid the unit is. The company says it has tested the product extensively and even placed it in a room and exposed it to salt air mist. So, yes, this is designed for a portable and outdoor product.

Further replacing it is the built-in lithium ion battery, which is rated for 3 to 4 hours of heavy use between charges.

SoundLink Wireless Mobile has a wireless range of up to 30 feet and works with any A2DP enabled Bluetooth device, including almost all smartphones and iPads. Around the back, you’ll find a standard 3.5mm audio input for connecting (via the included cable) other audio devices that don’t offer Bluetooth, such as the iPod Nano.

We had no problem pairing an iPhone, Android smartphone, and iPad 2 with the speaker. Just press the Bluetooth button on the speaker and it goes into pairing mode. After selecting “Bose SoundLink Wireless” from the Bluetooth setup menu on your phone or other device, after a few seconds you should be able to connect to the speaker wirelessly and stream audio to it.

At one point, we had a slight disconnect from the Android phone – for about two seconds. Bluetooth, like most other wireless technologies, was a teacher’s memory.
