Diggit Speaker

Diggit Speaker – With the delightful summer we have this year, this test is a bit more difficult. It doubles as a garden/outdoor speaker and has removable pegs that allow you to place it on the ground. It’s perfect for the beach, a garden party, a barbecue or a camping trip. Plus, to add to the fun, you can actually connect more Diggit XL speakers to it and create a complete outdoor party with over 100 Diggit XL speakers working together for even wider sound coverage.

At this point.. imagine having 100 of these wires together in your (big) garden. That would be a loaded nightmare, surely?! 🙂

First impressions are very good and I am now familiar with KitSound’s build quality. It is a scaffolding device that weighs 614 grams. It is IP 66 waterproof, which means it is suitable for dusty environments and blasts by water jets. Good in the rain, but not so good if you dunk it in a pool.

The Kitsound Diggit Xl Bluetooth Outdoor Speaker

The top and bottom have a wood finish that is not actually wood. It is more of a soft touch rubber. At the top, behind the waterproof flap, is the microUSB charging point and 3.5mm audio input.

At the top, four solid rubber buttons are heavy, clear identification symbols. They are also easy to spot if you have a barbecue in the evening with LED back-lighting, which goes around the top and bottom corners, which means they are easy to find in your garden at night.

The silver meshing is a nice touch and the sound comes from all angles, so you don’t have to worry too much about which way the speaker is showing.

Charging via micro USB port takes about 4 hours. Depending on how strong you hold the speaker, you will get a full 24 hours of music. You can stick it to the ground through removable stock, but you need to make sure that the stock is placed on the ground.

Pairing is a long press on the “Multi Function Button” (MFB) – which is basically the power button. The LED indicator slowly shines white, then you can connect it to your phone and play music on it from up to 30 meters away. You can connect other devices by double-tapping this button, and you can use the “multi-pair” button (which looks a bit like a Wi-Fi symbol) to add additional speakers.

The volume buttons, when “long pressed”, act as a track change control, going forward or backward. You can play and pause with this multi-function button.

Sound quality, it definitely has enough “oomph” to play in your garden, but really lacks deep bass and gives it a more “average” sound. This is despite the passive double radiators.

The speaker also has 2 x 45mm drivers, all of which give you a more enveloping and surround sound than one loaded with a heavy bass.

Kitsound Diggit Mk2 Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker, 2 Pk

Available from the KitSound website or from Amazon for £79.99, it is undoubtedly stronger than the existing figure, but it costs twice as much. When I tried it in the field, I found that one speaker was loud and easily filled the space with powerful sound. The battery life was fantastic and its looks are certainly very impressive. It’s well made, and while it doesn’t really have much bass, it has good all-around sound quality with simple controls, real weather protection, and quality construction.

The Kitsound Diggit XL outdoor Bluetooth speaker is a cylindrical shape with a cloth speaker grill in the middle. Use a wooden effect on the top and bottom. There is a black stock at the bottom to secure it to the ground.

It’s nice to have outdoor friendly features on an “outdoor” speaker. It has IP66 water and dust resistance and can take rain. The sound is nice and loud, not rich or bold, but it gets melodic out in the open.

The speaker head has all the controls. All of them are backlit, tactile and under a matte cover. There is a black flap on the side to access the charging port. There is a 3.5mm input and a USB charging port.

Also, I recommend grabbing two of these as they can be combined and give your party a huge boost. Also, it’s easy to connect and provides great stereo sound for music. Connect over 100 Diggit XL speakers for a truly immersive outdoor audio experience!

Overall, the Kitsound Diggit XL Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker is great for any outdoor party. 24 battery life and lights make it easy to party from dusk to dawn.
