Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Speaker

Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Speaker – It’s summer time and of course Bluetooth speakers are often in vogue. People love to relax in parks, on beaches or even in hotel rooms during their holidays. There are even those who like to rock at home from time to time. Logitech recently released the X300, which is reminiscent of Ultimate Ears’ UE Boom and is actually under the Logitech umbrella. Now, even though they have similar features, do they sound the same too?

The X300 is designed as a cylindrical tube that can stand horizontally or vertically. When placed horizontally at the top, there are three buttons: volume up/down and Bluetooth (used for pause and play). It is made of a hard silicone rubber outer shell and the speaker grille is a smooth hard plastic material. It doesn’t feel bad in the hand and seems to sit in any position. I prefer him to stand straight, but that’s just me.

The X300 can be synced via Bluetooth, or you can connect it via an optional cable to the rear port if you prefer. Battery life is scheduled for 5 hours and so far usage seems close to that. For charging, you can use the included microUSB cable that plugs into the rear panel. Surprisingly, there is no AC adapter. My guess is that they rely on you either charging via PC or using one of your other charging adapters (which I did). Calls can be made with the press of a button on the X300, and the sound is pretty good.

The X300 has four drivers, two on the side and two on the front. With front and side speakers, the X300 is expected to bring you all-round sound. When listening to music, you may find that the X300 has a nice bass feel that it pumps out. Even though it has strong bass, I felt it, the actual sound is not as clear and can feel a bit muffled at times. So you can hear the music and it’s clear, but it could be a little clearer.

Priced at $70 (on sale for $59.99), the X300 is a good-sounding speaker with plenty of bass on the back. You can save space with the folding or snap-on options, and depending on the size, you can easily fit it into your carry bag. Of course, if you’re looking for purer premium sound, there are other speakers out there that will cost you a bit more. However, this is here for you to get started and play some random tunes on the X300. to test the products you are interested in buying and tell you if it’s worth it. Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Speaker

Logitech shed a tear when it comes to Bluetooth speakers, especially the Ultimate Ears (UE) series. We were impressed with the UE Boom and the UE Mobile Boombox ($299.99 on Amazon) managed to take home our Editors’ Choice award. The new X300 mobile wireless speaker ($59.99 at Amazon) (opens in a new window) may not be called UE, but it continues Logitech’s successful streak. The tiny X300 for just $69.99 delivers powerful, room-filling sound in a well-made, versatile form factor. You can get more power and more bass if you’re willing to spend more, but for the price, the Logitech X300 is worthy of our Editors’ Choice for affordable Bluetooth speakers.

Design and Compliance The X300 could easily bear the UE label as it bears a close visual resemblance to that product line, at least in terms of design. It comes in four vibrant color combinations: purple with white accents, black with gold, pink on pink, or blue on blue. I tested the blue model.

Since 1982, the company has tested and evaluated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions (see how we tested everything we’ve covered(opens in a new window).)

The speaker is surprisingly well made considering its price; It is not hardened, but appears solid and carefully crafted. Much of the X300 is made from rubberized plastic that feels good, grippy (and helps secure it to your desktop). It measures 2.7 by 5.9 by 2.8 inches (HWD) and weighs 12.5 ounces, making it very portable, but it won’t fit in your pocket.

The top of the speaker houses most of the controls, including two volume buttons and a Bluetooth button. The buttons are a good size and crisp, but not particularly clicky. I don’t like the power button, which is located on the back of the speaker and doesn’t really look like a button. You get used to it quickly, but the first time I used the X300, I forgot where it was. Opposite the power button, you’ll find a 3.5mm Aux input and a micro USB port for charging.

Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Speaker

Logitech estimates up to five hours of battery life on a single charge with the included micro USB cable. This number depends a lot on volume and whether you’re using Bluetooth, but it’s about average for a speaker of this size. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to tell when your battery is running low. The light under the power button will give you a hint, but it’s in a place you probably won’t see and will only change color when you need a charge.

Just press and hold the Bluetooth button on the top edge for a few seconds to pair the speaker. The light under the power button will flash and then stay on until you connect the speaker to another device. I had no problem pairing the speaker with my iPhone 5s.

Performance and Results For its size, the X300 packs a pretty impressive sonic output. Just enough to fill the whole room with sound that can not be said about any speaker in this price range. Even on tracks with heavy sub-bass content, such as The Knife’s “Silent Shout”, the X300 doesn’t distort the sound. It felt like it was on the verge of distortion once or twice at maximum volume, but it never really cracked or crackled no matter what kind of music I played.

On less intense tracks like Radiohead’s “Paranoid Android”, the X300 delivers an impressive balance that keeps the mids and highs clear while delivering just the right amount of bass to add depth and warmth. It looks like some kind of DSP (Digital Signal Processing) is at work that makes the bass louder to avoid distortion. Luckily, Logitech has had a very light hand on this, and it doesn’t look like it will work until you’ve gone over three-quarters of the maximum volume. However, it’s not exactly a speaker for those who really like heavy bass: you won’t get nearly the same noise here as you would with the Bose SoundLink Mini ($169.99 on Amazon) (opens in a new window). but again, you only pay a third of the price.

Another nice feature is the universal design, which allows you to listen to music when the speaker is placed horizontally or supported vertically on both sides. While the speaker has an interesting angular shape, it doesn’t matter how you position it. Useful if you are trying to fit on a crowded shelf. And because the two speakers are so close together, I couldn’t find a noticeable difference in sound quality at either speaker position.

The X300 also has a built-in speaker which is handy when you’re listening to music from your phone and don’t want to miss a call. Call quality was consistent on both ends in testing.

Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Speaker

For the price, it’s hard to beat the Logitech X300. Yes, you can find Bluetooth speakers like the AmazonBasics Mini or the 808 Audio Canz ($27.92 at Walmart) (opens in a new window) for even less, but none of them offer audio quality close to the X300. The $50 JBL Clip offers some durability and a nice sense of balance, but with a wearable design, it’s better for spelling than sitting on a living room shelf.
